Vice President Anna Appolonia spoke about the CNBA Card Exchange and said it will be held on Monday, January 21 at 7:00 p.m. – location is at the Colts Neck Inn. She said that the CNBA would appreciate any door prizes of members that are willing to offer. Members are free to get in and non-members are $20.00.
Jason Buccino, head of the Luncheon Committee, spoke to the CNBA. He said that the luncheon will be held at Trump National Golf Course on March 3, 2013 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. There will be 10 vendor tables and will be on a first come first serve basis at $150 a table plus two luncheon tickets. The tickets will be $35 per person and $300 for a table for corporate sponsors. There will be gift baskets – around 10 to 15 of them at a minimum of a $150.00 value per basket. Jason also announced there will be an ad journal and gold sponsor and silver sponsor are needed. At the February 2013 General Meeting – the luncheon speaker will be announced. Scott Squadron of Living In Media raised his hand and announced that he will be taking a table at the luncheon and Glen Dalakian thanked him. Glen Dalakian said that because of the large turn out last year, we have moved the venue over to Trump National Golf Course because the CNBA is hoping for 300 attendees.
Glen Dalakian gave an update on Operation Provide Comfort Union Beach. He said that this effort was feeling the support of the CNBA. He mentioned that the Colts Neck Community Church is handling all the donations and money. He said that 110 homes need to be demolished. He also gave kudos to Jim Sfayer for heading up the effort and thanked all the helpers involved. He noted that there will be a meeting on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and did not know if it would be at Colts Neck Town Hall or at the Colts Neck Library – he would update everyone on that through an email blast. Patty Vollherbst said that there is a Facebook page for Operation Provide Comfort and to make sure that you plug Operation Provide Comfort Union Beach into the search engine for Facebook. She also mentioned the Christmas shop that was held for Union Beach residents. Glen Dalakian noted that Tommy Orgo donated Christmas trees to Union Beach residents as well.
Economic Development Committee – Don Norkus reported that their biggest discussions have been on the kiosk and where to put the kiosk. Suggestions were put out the floor, and most suggestions that were made were not CNBA members. He also mentioned that they are trying to work on a Colts Neck Business Day – like the Olde Towne Day they used to have. Glen Dalakian noted that he would like everyone to get involved and tell us their ideas for a potential business day.
Welcome Committee – Leanne Lucarelli was not in attendance to give a report.
Ordinance Committee – Tom Corley was not in attendance to give a report.
Technology – Patty Vollherbst reported that we have a Facebook and LinkedIn page – and that it is a great place for CNBA members to post about their business. Glen Dalakian said we are keeping our emails specific to the CNBA needs – we have created this for our members as a forum for their businesses to share with other members.
Education Committee – David Sokoler reported that he has speakers lined up for the February 2013 and March 2013 CNBA General meetings. He invites anyone to come and speak to him about potential topics that would be of interest to CNBA members.
Membership Committee – Mike Tormey reported that the CNBA 2013 Membership Dues are due now. He said that it is $50 for membership for the year, and this gets you in free to all our card exchanges and a place on the map and mailer that will be going out. He reported that in 2012, the CNBA had a total of 180 members and in 2013 so far, he said to stop procrastinating and to pay your dues as soon as possible.
Township Committee – Tommy Orgo had nothing to report from the Colts Neck Township Committee.
Each person in attendance at the CNBA January 2013 General Meeting was allotted a 30 second introduction of themselves and their business.
