David Sokoler gave Treasurer's report – CNBA currently has $5797.82 in PNC checking account, $8902.00
in Pay Pal account, and $2890.49 in Money Market account. Total $17,590.31. Motion to approve by Dee Zander second by George Sherwood. Motion passed.
David has signed up for Square so we can now take credit cards at events. We still have Pay Pal account.
Anna asked if there were any new businesses in town. Presently there are not.
Greg reported on the Business Roundtable, which took place on June 27. He summed up the evening discussion by reiterating the sentiments of Mike Fitzgerald, township committeeman, who advised us to focus on what we can do, not what is out of our hands.
Our Economic Development committee is working to develop a plan to improve conditions for the business community. They are receiving a lot of support from Amy Fitzgerald, from the Economic & Workforce Development.
Greg also suggested that we might hire a professional who has knowledge of how to "brand" a community.
Glen pointed out that while the plan and funds have been approved to reconfigure the 537 intersection, the state is currently holding off undertaking the project so this delay should not influence our moving ahead with new ideas and plans for the business community.
Anna gave an update on the Card Exchange, scheduled for Tuesday July 15 from 6-9 PM at Pebble Creek Golf Course. Vendor tables are still available at $125 each. We are running this in conjunction with EIPA,
Greater Monmouth and Great Ocean Chambers of Commerce. Alison and Carolyn are soliciting items for the raffle basket from some of the local businesses.
Day at the Races is set for August 1st beginning at 11:30 AM. Tickets are $45 and Patty reported that as of tomorrow July 10, reservations can be made on the website.
Glen brought us up to date on the Jacqui Lee concert benefitting OPC scheduled for August 23 at Brookdale. Tickets are available at opcunionbeach.org/tickets. He did mention that there are several price levels, including the top prices to include a backstage event with Jacqui Lee.
David reported on the Value Added program and reminded all to drop their business card in the hat at each meeting. We pulled a name for this quarter and it was won by Jim Schatzle of Team Life.
Glen reported that the Economic Development committee is meeting at Perkins the last Thursday of each month, and is open to anyone interested in attending.
David mentioned that he is always looking for new speakers who might like to speak on a subject of interest to the membership.
All attendees introduced themselves.
Mark Dammeyer spoke about the Colts Neck Business Directory he is putting together with a listing for each existing business in town currently.
