This committee will provide new and existing businesses with information, resources, and tools to help make critical decisions for business development and expansion in Colts Neck. Our vision is for the Colts Neck business district to continue development into a destination location with unique shops and attractions.
Business District Information
The Colts Neck Business District encourages and supports a diverse mix of retail stores and services. Colts Neck is an oasis of spacious farms and large size lots, with an emerging business area surrounded by the more populated towns of Howell, Middletown, Holmdel, Freehold, and Marlboro. The business district is centralized along the corridor of route 34 located between Flock Road and State Rte 18.
Colts Neck Township has a land area of 31.70 square miles (82.1 km2) and is centrally located in the county. While the township holds on to its historically agrarian character, increasingly farmland is being diverted to exclusive, large lot residential development. A large part of Colts Neck’s land area belongs to the federal government as part of Naval Weapons Station Earle. County Route 537, in the southern part of the township, is one of the most scenic drives in the county, passing by large farmsteads, lush pasture land, orchards, and grazing horses. The community is developing with its historical roots in mind and continues to have a strong family atmosphere. The median family income (2000 census) is $160,000.00. Colts Neck has three grade schools, which educate children from K to 8th grade. The regional High School is part of the Freehold Regional High School system.
Traffic is steady through the business district due to the ease of access from three major roads Rte 18, Rte 34, and Rte 537. Many patrons from surrounding areas travel these routes daily. Colts Neck also has convenient public transportation running through the business district between Freehold and Red Bank.
Colts Neck has an evolving and maturing business district with stores and shopping plazas currently developed and under development with both retail and professional space available. Now is an excellent time to expand or locate your business in Colts Neck.
